Brown ground beef and onion in a frying pan, drain off excess fat.
Stir in tomato sauce and chilli powder, cook for about 3-4 minutes.
Simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes uncovered, stirring occasionally, until mixture is crumbly.
Fill toasted taco shells with approximately 2 tablespoons meat mixture.
Mix chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and cheese.
Spoon about 2 tablesppoons over beef in taco shells.
Serve with guacamole, salsa or taco sauce if desired.
