Preheat oven to 375. Sprinkle berries with a little flour. Butter and flour 9x13x2-inch pan. Sift flour to measure 2 C.. Resift with baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices. Cream butter and sugar. Beat egg until lemon-colored; add to butter mixture. Beat well. Gradually beat in molasses. Alternately add butter-egg-molasses mixture and milk to dry ingredients, a little at a time, beating well after each addition. Gently fold in berries. Pour into prepared pan; bake 30 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Remove and cool the cake in pan on rack. Dust with confectioners’ sugar. Cut into squares to serve.
