New England Fish Mushroom Chowder

Ingredients:

12 oz. fresh mushrooms (or canned)2 Tbsp. butter1 C. chopped onion1/2 C. diced carrots3/4 C. water3/4 lb. potatoes, peeled & diced(about 1 C.)1 lb. cod fillets, cut into 1 inchchunks2 C. milk2 Tbsp. flour1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce1 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. thyme leaves, crushed1/8 tsp. black pepper

Instructions:

In a medium sauce pot melt butter. Add mushrooms, onion and carrots, saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add water and potatoes, bring to boil. Reduce heat an simmer, covered, until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes. Add fish, continue to simmer covered until fish flake easily when tested with fork, about 8 minutes.
