Turkey Picadillo Chili

Vegetable cooking spray1 lb freshly ground turkey breast1/2 cup sliced green onions1 x (4 oz) can chopped green chilies, undrained1 x clove garlic, minced1/2 cup raisins3 tbl slivered almonds1 tsp chili powder1/2 tsp ground cumin1/2 tsp ground cinnamon1/4 tsp ground cloves1/2 tsp ground red pepper1/4 tsp black pepper2 x (8 oz) cans no-salt added tomato sauce1 x (14 1/2 oz) can no-salt added whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped8 x pimiento-stuffed olives, halved


Coat a large saucepan with cooking spray, and place over medium-high heat until hot. Add ground turkey breast, and cook until browned, stirring to crumble. Add green onions, chilies, and garlic; cook 3 minutes. Add raisins and remaining ingredients. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.

Yield: 6 cups

Picadillo is a traditional dish in many Spanish-speaking countries. Raisins and cinnamon make it sweet and spicy.
